At dawn on Friday, the UAE sent a plane carrying 30 tons of urgent food for the earthquake victims in Afghanistan
This comes in implementation of the directives of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President on the UAE, to operate an air bridge to provide relief to the earthquake victims in Afghanistan.The aid was sent through the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works and the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, and in logistical coordination with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation
This joint relief among the Emirati humanitarian institutions is a continuation of the Emirati charitable approach, and to help the affected, the poor and the needy in various brotherly and friendly countries, in order to consolidate the value of the boundless giving that has characterized the UAE for the past fifty years
More than 1,500 people were killed in the quake, more than 2,000 were injured, hundreds of homes were damaged, and the quake also caused landslides
